RE: College fOOTBALL.2009

This is gonna hurt to say....but I think Bama(pending they dont slip up(at LSU :B)) is capable of beating Florida in the SEC. So right now Im thinkin more like Bama/Texas. If that happens I will have to cheer for the Longhorns. Thats because I hat the SEC and will always cheer for a Big 12 team. Except maybe Colorado and Kansas State.

Recruiting has gotten better. Had some good commits after the Missouri game. Not sure how the Texas Tech game will hurt. It has been exciting to watch the Huskers this season yet frustrating at times. Oh well. Guess I will Watch Florida and Texas in the National Championship.

RE: College fOOTBALL.2009

Nebraska has offense problems. Everyone around Nebraska are calling it an identity problem. The Huskers have not decided if they are going to run, pass, combo, or even show up on offense consistently. The Husker QB's are not making good reads, and not checking down during pass plays. They also did not spread the field on offense. It was ugly. The defense is solid. They had a couple break downs against Texas Tech that resulted in two third down conversions in the first quarter. Which ended up in points for Tech. Tech was shut down in the second half until the reserves got put in late in the fourth quarter. Can win games on defense alone. I won't brag up the Huskers as the greatest team. Like I said earlier they are much improved. Still have a ways to go. GO BIG RED

RE: College fOOTBALL.2009

Sorry but I have to agree with YOURADHERE. The BCS has enough problems the way it is. Putting two teams in the national championship game would be suicide for the BCS. Suh has a better chance of winning the Heisman than does Bama playing Florida for the National Championship. Besides Alabama will stumble. Mark my words.

RE: College fOOTBALL.2009

I should log on more often. A thread that you can actually argue in. I hate to say it but there are two teams that are playing at a different level than anyone else and are on a collision course to meet in the national championship game and I don't like either of them. They are Florida and Texas. My Huskers are much improved over years past but still have a ways to go. We hope we have one thing that no other team in the country has. That is the future Heisman Trophy winner senior defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Suh is playing lights out. It will be interesting to see if Heisman voters pull their heads out and vote for the most deserving player and not the most popular. GO BIG RED

Besides quarters, beer pong, ice cube trays, you know the usuals we also played a game called "pass out". You can get it at a novelty store. It was a good way to get drunk and have fun.

I was only kidding....didnt know it really was one of your setups this happened at. I don't think anyone knew. I am glad to hear the measures you have to follow CC in order to try to make it as safe as possible for your patrons. Even if it is probably a pain in the butt.

Father of Columbine Student

Sorry this is long but well worth the time to read. These are the words spoken by Darrell Scott before the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript: " Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. "The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. "In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended.. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You've stripped away our heritage, You've outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question "Why?" You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need! " Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. "As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!" Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech..

Entrepreneurial Humor

Entrepreneurial Humor A man owned a small Ranch in Texas. The Department of Labor claimed he was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to interview him. "I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them," demanded the agent. "Well," replied the farmer, "there's my farm hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week and free room and board. The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $150 per week plus free room and board. Then there is the half-wit. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally." "That's the guy I want to talk to...the half-wit," says the agent. "That would be me," replied the Rancher.

How bad is the economy?

How bad is the economy? I'll tell you how bad the economy is... CEO's are now playing miniature golf. Hotwheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM. Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting People in Africa are donating money to Americans Motel Six won't leave the light on The Mafia is laying off judges PETA serves chicken wings at their meetings McDonalds is selling the 1/4 ouncer People in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names A truck of Americans got caught sneaking into Mexico The most highly-paid job is now jury duty Mothers in Ethiopia are telling their kids, "finish your plate, do you know how many kids are starving in the US ?" Even people who have nothing to do with the Obama administration aren't paying their taxes. And finally...Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Hey, neat...the guy who made $50 billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $750 billion disappear.

RE: Anybody happy with the new president?

I have to ad something to add to my original post. I was wondering how many of you have your own wells for drinking water or have water rights that have been in your family for years? There is currently a bill in Washington to have ALL the water rights turned over to the Federal Govt. EVERYONE will have to pay for the water that they use even if they have had water rights in their family for years. You want water? Go ask the Govt if you can have some. The top four people in our government are Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and Clinton. In that order. I don't know about you but that scares the Hell out of me. The talk earlier about an assassination brings up a couple concerns. It will start a civil war between the races. It will put another Socialist pig into office. I guess we are going to have to weather the storm and hope there is not too much damage when it clears.

RE: Anybody happy with the new president?

Holy******I should check in here more often. Actually a discussion worth reading. I did not vote for Obama. He has done a terrible job and is leading the U.S.A. into self destruction. Here is why. -In his first 100 days in office he has spent more money than the last four years of Bush. -He has signed a Presidential decree (I think that is what they call it) that will give $20.3 Million to allow Hamas members to come to the U.S. and live. -He is going to release ALL of the Gitmo detainees into the U.S. -He wants ALL weapons to be registered with the Government. -Ammo will be taxed so heavily that nobody will be able to afford it. Already in K.C. a box of 380 ammo is $50. I can list more but would take too long.
